Case Study 4

Gary has recently passed his Category C test and is working on an ad-hoc basis as a driver for a scaffolding company. When he has driven the lorry and equipment to the site, he works as a labourer with the scaffolding team. His start times and locations vary, often at short notice. Today he began work at 08:00 and is not due to finish until 22:00

Gary is keen to impress and has been told that the company is looking for a hard-working individual to join the team permanently.

He is working under EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations.
