Case Study 140
George specialises in moving abnormal loads. This week, he plans to move a piece of military equipment from a factory in Dorset to a naval base in Scotland.
The load weighs 56,000kg but isn’t particularly wide or long and fits comfortably onto his trailer.
It’s Tuesday today, and George has just returned from a two week holiday. He will be 65 in a month and has over 40 years of experience, 20 of them involve the movement of abnormal loads.
The journey will be mostly motorway driving and take the best part of two days. This will include an overnight stop where George will take a regular daily rest.
George will be following the rules for STGO 2 movements.
